Robotic system for palletizing cardboard boxes
Project purpose
Automation of palletizing after the case packers. Reduction of the number of operating personnel. Reduction of downtime and operator errors on the lines.
Key operations
Feeding an empty pallet into palletizing area from a pallet stack, palletizing corrugated boxes from two lines.
Project description
Robotic palletizing of boxes with packing materials.
Robot feeds an empty pallet into the palletizing area with a gripper system equipped with palletizing tool.
The boxes come out of the two group packaging machines at the pickpoint. Depending on the selected product type, the robot stacks the boxes on the pallet with a vacuum gripper system according to a previously created stacking pattern.
The stacking pattern for each new product type is created in a special stacking pattern generator on the robot’s control panel. Programming of the robot at the transition to the new product type is not required.
Implementation result
The implemented robotic system was an effective way to increase output capacity. Thus, it achieved the capacity of 400 boxes per hour by operating two packaging lines in a 3-shift mode of equipment operation. The customer's specialists mastered packing of 32 new types of products.
